I {Heart} Jet Noise

Well, we decided to pack up and hit the road this past weekend. We headed to Virginia Beach for the air show again. You may remember this post from last year. Well, things were better ...

The weather was gorgeous and the planes could fly.

The boys are older so they didn't tear up the hotel room. (amazing what a new package of Lego's can do)

Rocky donned the backpack stuffed with snacks and water to keep the food related whining at bay.

Unfortunately, the boys still might be a wee bit to young.

When they weren't in the 'kids zone' with jumpers and slides they sat like this:

It was a bit loud as you can imagine.

One of the many wonderful soldiers who was working in the stands gave the boys ear plugs but they didn't care for they way they felt in their ears.

Last week Henry checked out this book about The Blue Angels at his schools library which on Friday I read to his class.

Henry did drop his hands from his ears (and his jaw to his chin) when Fat Albert hit the skies.

And then the Blue Angels themselves

Man those soldiers have nerves (and hands) of steel.

Maybe next year we will venture back ... with proper ear plugs.

I really do {heart} jet noise.

I remember going to the air shows with my parents when we were all small and man are those jets loud! The Blue Angels are just incredible to see and even as small as the boys are, they will sure remember that. Glad you had a good day!

I'm sure they enjoyed it inspite of the noise and will have great childhood memeories.

I remember your posting last year about this! Great tradition you're starting for your boys.

I love air shows - I've had Miramar's show marked on my calendar for months to make sure that we won't miss it. My daughter isn't keen on load noises, though, so we've dig out some huge ear defenders for her. Hopefully that'll work this year, as she would lose a set of ear plugs about every 5 minutes last year...
