Let The Fish Tales Begin

You would think after all our traveling this summer we would want to lay low and stay at home ... naaaah. Three days after we hit the door we piled in the family-mobile and took a day trip to visit some friends who have retired to a local lake. This time we only had to drive across 1 city and 2 counties vs 4 states (smiles).

I don't know who was amused more when we pulled over to feed the carp, Rocky or the boys ...

It was out of hand. These guys would suck you fingers right off if you got too close! They were jumping out of the water trying to get the bread. For real.

Open wide.

This gives new meaning to fish face for me ;-)

The boys also got to go "fishing" for the first time ever. Each were lucky enough to catch a fish.

The tall tales have already begun ...

Your little fishermen are so cute! Sean fished for the first time this summer too, first with his Dad at the lake while we were on vacation, then at cub scout camp. Such fun!

Those carp are pretty creepy looking and a little rude. did they at least say please?

Those fish faces are kind of scary -- and so many of them. I'm sure the fish tales are getting larger by the minute. This will be a great memory -- or maybe it will become a regular family event.

Wow, those carp are creepy! I'm glad the boys caught some nicer-looking fish, though; I think fishing with kids is such an awesome thing to do. I grew up fishing with my dad and those are memories I'll never forget.

That looks pretty crazy. Seems like they could have just picked those fish up out of the water.

They did better than my husband - although in fairness to him, no one else was catching anything, either...
