Skirting The Issue

I finished my skirt. Well, almost. I haven't hemmed it because it hangs sooo low; way lower than the last one (and I used the same pattern ... and no - believe you me I haven't lost any weight!). Perplexing. I am going to throw it in the wash one more time and see if it shrinks up a bit more. I vaguely remember that happening to my first skirt. If not, I'll have some alterations to do before hemming. arg.

All this hemming and hawing (I couldn't resist) to say, I haven't touched the two tops I want to make. My mind hasn't been clear (or my afternoons) to really get in and get going. A good excuse to avoid something difficult. sigh. I am determined to at least make one of the tops this month. Did I mention that I have two swaps (to sew for) and four teacher gifts to complete (and mail) by the end of the month. I also just picked up a great book (off my shelf) and now can't get my nose out of it. You will have to wait until Turn the Page ... Tuesday (June 2 - let me know if you are posting) to find out what it is :-P

Well. All this talk of what needs to be done (not to mention the never ending mounds of laundry!), I better stop skirting the issue and get going this morning. Coffee to make, mouths to feed, hugs and kisses to give, cleaning to be done ...

There is a light at the end of the tunnel!

Adrienne,

Your to-do list has made me exhausted. I'm going back to bed to rest up! Good luck on your projects and the teacher's gifts which surely need to get out soon....

(I did just get a load of laundry started!)

BTW, I'm making good progress on my book too!

It's hard to squeeze in sewing time sometimes...even during naptime. Can't wait to see your finished skirt! I've been eyeballing that book...but I'm torn between that and Weekend Sewing...any thoughts?

love that photo... b/c somedays really all it takes a little spark of light, a glimpse of the rainbow, and no matter the hectic world... god has little ways of showing us that indeed it will all be alright... even the skirt. especially the skirt!

At least you are sewing and hemming! I changed patterns, always trying to find the easiest one... Some of the fabric I have for the skirts is for winter ones, and oh well, that dress may have to wait. Still hope, May is not over yet... I will be posting on Turn the Page, and I can't wait to read yours!!! Have a great day!
XOXO

Good luck getting done what you need to get done; I'm biding my time until tonight. The sewing machine and a glass of wine is calling! And count me in for TTPT - I'm reading a pretty good one right now!
