That's what if feels like knitting this scarf.
I actually have made even more progress since I took this picture. I'm giving my self until Christmas to finish it. I only have 28 more inches to go ... Maybe I should give myself until Valentines day ;-)
For those of you who knit and crochet (first I am envious and secondly really impressed) I have a question for you ... do you find one goes faster than the other? I am so slow! I know practice helps but I can't help but wonder if I would pick up crocheting faster. I'm so impatient that I don't know if this ol' dog can learn another trick though. I have these day dreams of knitting for our whole family ... hats, gloves, sweaters ... yeah right. A gal can hope!

Oh sugar...I have no clue. I have not the patience for either.
I'm still knitting scarves too! I cannot for the life of me move on so I'm with you on the envy front!!
I'm going to an evening class in a few weeks to learn crotchet - well how to make flowers! I can chain stitch but not sure beyond that!
I'll let you know how I get on!!
Keep knitting - it does get quicker but I haven't been able to move on!!!
Yes, I think crocheting is faster, but I never know where to start and where to stop, so my stuff ends up getting wider and wider, then thinner and thinner...
Thanks for the lovely comment on my blog Adrienne... Your scarf is looking amazing. Maybe you need a sideline project that knits up super quick to motivate you to finish your scarf a bit quicker... LOL!!! I'm still only a novice knitter and try not to comit myself to anything TOO big unless it's knitted up using a thick and chunky yarn. I love crocheting and definitely find it much easier than knitting but that's just me. It must be the fact that you only have one needle to worry about and that needle's a hook which makes it even better... Good luck with the scarf and I have faith that you'll finish it before xmas...
Jodie :)
I don't crochet so I couldn't say I'm afraid. I find it depends on what I'm knitting as to wether I'm fast or slow. With Baby G's jumper and hat it was sooo fast but with what I'm doing now it seems like its taking forever and they're on the same size needles - odd.But don't give up on your knitting, the wool is lovely.

I started out crocheting, and moved on to knitting from there. I don't really know if one is faster than the other...I think it just depends on technique, you know? Good luck with the scarf - it looks lovely! And stick with it; the payoff is huge!
I'm pretty darn slow at both. I think crocheting might be quicker if you pick one of those stitches that leaves lots of gaps. I've seen a couple of patterns that might make me pick up the knitting needles again soon. We'll see.
