The Village

I'm sure you have not been following the weather on the mid-Atlantic area (unless you happen to live in that area or are just a weather junkie) ... well, about a week ago we had a ton of rain. Like so much rain the jokes about turning into a duck and wondering where Noah was with the Arc kinda rain. It was crazy. And very wet.

Enter The Village.

Do you remember that movie? It came out sometime ago but Rocky and I were late to the party. We saw it a few years back and loved it. When writing this post it was interesting to find poor reviews of it online. Just goes to show how much Rocky and I go against the "Hollywood" grain. Any who ... we have our own little village in our back yard - or I should say we did. Rocky had to cut the grass one last time (or so we think) and I snapped these shots right before the homestead was destroyed.

Obligatory fall shoe shot

This is what our back yard looks like now

If I don't post for awhile there might indeed need to have cause for concern. I swore I heard whispers of a take over and efforts to rebuild the village ...

It must be mushroom season... we have a cute little village of about 20 Shaggy Mane Mushrooms in our yard. Really cute. :)

That's a scary village. Those things pop up overnight.

Mushrooms growing in the grass freak me out enough already. But the movie sounds interesting. But then again, I just read your Children of the Corn post, so now I can't make up my mind. It's been YEARS since I watched a horror film (I think having kids had something to do with that)!
