Don't worry, not me. Just my elephants. These poor softies have had a rough time from the start. Somehow my seams didn't meet up quite right, I lost the buttons for the eyes (still haven't found them), and they look like they were stitched up by someone who had one too many adult beverages.
These elephants have been staring at me (well not really since they don't have eyes ... but that's worse if you ask me!) for far too long. I just can't bring myself to pull out the stitches and redo their backs.
Things like that just frustrate me even more. *deep sigh* The pattern is from the Sew Everything Workshop and is supposed to be very simple. That's what stumped me I guess.
What should I do with them? They were a gift for a girlfriend who has a 2 year old (big elly) and had twin daughters (little elly's). These are definitely not gift worthy. Should I just give them to a consignment type shop? Ugh. I hate it when a project goes awry. I know I should just rip out the stitches and do it again but I just don't have it in me. These elephants just keep giving me the imaginary evil eye ;-)
I'm off to make some sock primates. Those I know I can do!

I love the ellies - if you think the stitching is that bad maybe you could make some little saddle type things to go across the backs - do you know the type I mean? You could even put little pockets on them so they could carry things. Would that work? I made my first ever sock primate last night , it's very addictive cos now I need to make more!!

Oh, bummer! That's so frustrating...I've had that happen to me with some of my knitting projects...knit and knit to find out it's too small. Ugh. I say donate the wee things and 'fuh-ged-about-it.:)
Cute elephants. Sounds to me like they need a little fancy, ribbon-y blanket draped over their backs like a saddle to hide the seams.
I know how you feel! I have had similar problems and so go on hating what I've made!
Go with some funky saddles, maybe out of felt with ribbon for decoration and in lovely bright colours. All you need to do is blanket stitch them on.
They'll look great!!
i think the elephants are very cute. and i've made those little boogers before and the pattern really ain't that easy...so don't be so hard on yourself! i agree with the others, a little saddle type thing would be cute. however, i would still be thrilled with them as a gift (or you could just have them as extras with another little gift) because i think the little imperfections of something handmade are what make it so perfect. :)
So glad you've joined the Holiday Hostess Flirty Apron Swap!
Who cares! :-) I think they're adorable! Broke back, eye less and all.
Maybe just throw them in as a "here's a little something to toss around" toy? I don't know. I wouldn't care but others may be different.
You could always offer a giveaway. :-) I'd enter. LOL! Seriously, I would.
