The Language Of ...

This is my 90th post.

Wow.

I was nervous about starting a blog but did it anyway. I'm so glad. So .... in honor of my 100th post I am going to have a little give away. I stumbled upon this sweet book the other day and thought it was perfect for this occasion.

The cover caught my eye; so I picked it up and began reading the introduction:

"Years ago, flowers spoke louder than words, and the most subtle way of expressing an intimate thought was by offering a token blossom or a bouquet of flowers.

The language of flowers, which was actively cultivated like a garden or an art, relied on petals and foliage to convey feeling and emotions instead of words."

I am tickled that so many of you have dropped by and left me 'petals and foliage'. I blog to document my sewing and family's life together - thanks for visiting my garden and watching us grow.

To be eligible to receive my token of gratitude, leave a comment for this post and tell me what your favorite flower is and why - just for fun! The winner will be announced at the 100th post (assuming that all goes well, that would be in about 2 weeks).

May all your seeds planted flourish.

I love reading your blog.

My favourite flower is the pansy because they were the nicest in Alice in Wonderland.

Well...My family owns a Floral, so I really love all flowers. Maybe I would say Plumeria and freesia because their smell reminds me of Hawaii!

Congrats on your (almost) 100th post! Your blog is lovely. And my favorite flower is the Zinnia because they're super colorful, easy to grow, hardy, and just plain happiness on a stem.

i stumbled across your blog because i have recently become obsessed with sewing and love seeing all your different projects. :)

i think my favorite flower is the crocus because its normally the first one to bloom and it makes me so excited about spring!

The snowdrop: we rescued some from our neighbour's garden after he died (the new owners were tearing everything out). Every year we would think of him when they bloomed.

I suppose I should say Periwinkle but I like all flowers no matter if they are in a shop or growing in the wild. I do like the daisy heads my 3yr old gives tho cos I get those with a kiss and a cuddle. Love the new lilac banner.

I'm not sure if I can pick just one! I totally love Peony's but they are in season for such a small time. They are so lovely when they are in bud all small and tightly packed, then huge and blousy when they open!

Hey Adrienne! I love daffodils, because they are the first thing that blooms in my yard. If I see them opening, I know spring and warmer weather can't be too far behind.
