Grass Is Greener

I've been thinking of leaving this little space here. Don't panic (I'm flattering myself) - I'm thinking of leaving Blogger. Boy that sounds so heavy!

I often find myself frustrated with Blogger's slow loading of pictures (and often just locking up on me and I have to start all over), difficulty in moving pictures in a post, and funky spacing (like the bottom of this post).

I have been snooping around TypePad and WordPress.

I know I have asked some of you personally about your host site for your blog. I'm leaning towards WordPress because it's free but there is so much to learn - I feel like I'm back in 8th grade Latin being asked if it's agricola or agricoae (shudder). In other words - it's all foreign to me! I have no idea how to format my page to fit my headers or even where to begin. I peeked on Etsy to see if there were people who help barely computer literate people like me; there are but I don't necessarily want to go that route either (cha ching).

Any kind words, how-to's on the net, or a person who helped you (even for a fee) would be greatly appreciated (even if it's tips on how to manage Blogger a bit better). This feels like such a big decision. It's silly really. So many other things to worry about in this world. As we all know, the grass is not always greener on the other side ... and speaking of grass - it's still snowing here!

There are days I hate blogger too. Everything can look wonderful on my laptop and then when I see my posting on another computer, everything is off-center or scrunched up. How is that possible? It is very frustrating -- but it's free so I can't really complain, can I? Plus, I'm basically illiterate when it comes to HTML codes and the like -- so I best just stick with blogger and suck it up.

I wish I could help, but I struggle myself. Maybe there are some blogging books out on Amazon, or in your library that could help. Whatever you do, don't leave us. I love your blog.

I started out on Blogger, and then switched to Typepad and have been pretty happy with it. Good luck!
