One our most favorite holiday treats is making our own chex mix. Only we take it up a notch. Can you say cayenne?
I made 5 quarts of this stuff the before Christmas. It was gone shortly thereafter.
So for those of you who can take some heat - I added 1 tablespoon of cayenne to each batch. I made the equivalent of four batches (all at once) so I added 4 tablespoons of the red stuff. I melt the butter in the microwave, add the cayenne and then pour over all the ingredients. I generally follow the recipe on the box of Chex but we add a few other goodies too ... Cheez-its, cashews, and Bugels.
Oh this is making me hungry ... I might need to turn up the heat in the kitchen ;-)

OK, my husband would love this stuff! Should I make him some? Cashews...brilliant! Mmmm, mmmm, mmmm!
Don't hold out on me ever again!
Man....Now I want some. I love that you put Bugles in the mix (they are soooo bad for you, but soooo good). Yum.
Yum! Chex mix is part of our holiday tradition too. We make the first batch the day after Thanksgiving and by New Years we are sick of it. The spicy version sounds great!
YUMMY! I think I will make some this week.
Yum, Yum!!!
Shouldn't be reading this at 11:10 pm - now I have the munchies! Yum!
