Short and Sweet

Leave me a comment and tell me what you love the most about this time of year to win this heart garland. I know ... it's a stretch but you can do it! I love sipping coffee / wine (depending on the time of day - he he) by the fire place, crawling under bedding that has been warmed by my electric blanket, snow (if we ever get it), and seeing my boy's cheeks all rosy after a good tumble outside.

Winner announced Monday, Feb 2nd!

And since I know you want details ... I used this pattern to crochet the hearts. ;-)

I love being about to stay inside in my pj's and make bread. I love watching marathon movies (like the series Dexter and The Unit) on weekends that my son and I cannot go out. He is 16 years old and I know I will not have that much longer. I love watching Gingerbean run, roll and frolick in what little snow that we have and then coming in with snow all over her nose.

I go out of my way for Valentines because it makes me feel not so alone. So I love hosting the Valentine swap and I LOVE hosting Pantipalooza...which is coming up!!

That heart garland turned out great! I made my first heart..well I made, ripped out, remade, ripped out, remade...and it turned out okay. It'll take practice. I did get the increase/decrease which is huge!!!! Hmmm, my favorite thing this time of year, besides knowing that spring is coming SOON, is wrapping up in my robe and snuggling on the couch to read books to my girls.

What a sweet garland! Honestly, I love the anticipation of Valentine's Day. It's my favorite holiday! I celebrate cuteness, chocolate, and the color pink. What's not to love?

I love:
listening to F+T when they are in play mode - they don't realise I'm listening!!
the first coffee of the day and my glass of wine by night!
looking out for the first signs of spring - those tight little buds!
noticing the days are just
beginning to get a little lighter in the evenings.

hmm lets see, I love it when the boys go to bed and I can get a few minutes peace to blog or knit or just watch TV..( that sounds awful doesn't it but everyone needs a bit of peace now and again ) , curling up in bed and reading - watching the flames fickering on the fire , and I loved the beach a few posts back --and chocolate :-)

oh i love it when mochajava digs his big labrador head in the snow and comes up with frosty whiskers and gives me kisses...

i enjoy dreaming of hot summer days when i can wear t-shirts and sandals and have a rootbeer float at the county fair...

most of all... falling in love all over again with someone i fell in love with a loooong time ago... and enjoying being with someone who encourages creativity, silliness and trying new recipes!

I love watching the fog lift off the bay and hearing the foghorn on the river, baking cookies, seeing all the little birds that come to snack out of my birdfeeder, curling up with my blankie and a good book next to the fireplace.

Your garlands adorable!

Snow! Glorious Snow! I love winter and all the fun things I can do outside. It's not uncommon for me to talk someone into going for a walk in the middle of a snowstorm. And if the rivers are running (which they are currently NOT) then I can be found paddling with my friends. Then there's sledding and skating and bonfires at night. I say just put another layer on and get outside.

I love to snuggle. All year round, I am a snuggler. My husband...notsomuch! He always seems to be warm. But on cold days when he comes in from shoveling the snow, he sits on the couch and I snuggle up next to him. I don't just get seconds, I get minutes! And I cherish everyone of them.

This time of year I love the occasional warm-ish day when we can get outside with the kids and play in the snow. And I love putting wool socks on my feet in the morning...

What I love best about Valentine's day is that I get to celebrate the birthdays of two of my darling children. My son will be 19 this year and is my firstborn, and then my youngest child will be 8 on the same day.

I love the simplicity of February. Really, all you need is warmth. OK, so warmth can manifest itself in myriad ways: hot cocoa, hot toddies, blankets, gas logs (I know, I know, not as good as the real thing!)crock pot dinners, and snuggly kids. We read on the couch under a fleecy blanket and go to bed early. Simple pleasure.

February--it's all about simplicity, baby. The main goal of this time of year is to attain warmth, which of course, manifests itself in myriad fantastic ways: hot cocoa, hot toddies, fleecy blankets, gas logs (yes, the real thing is better, but I do like my logs)sweaters, and snuggly kittens and kids.
