Sewing In Circles

Do you ever feel like you are going around, and around, and around? Well, I actually was ... with my sewing machine. I decided I needed at hat. Actually, Henry decided I needed a hat and seeing how all of the hats in this house are baseball hats I had to get to work.

oh ... the crows feet ...
I circled this brim 28 times ...
I had bought this fabric some time ago at Wal-Mart for $2 a yard. I made some fun bibs and jingle balls out of it. (no pics - I did those before blogging took over my life - he he) I had read a few reviews about the hat from Simple Sewing and they weren't so flattering. Then, when checking out my favorite Flickr groups, I saw where the hat had been revived ... without any trouble. I thought I would give it a shot.
Now, this fabric was not my ideal choice but I figured if it was a bust I only wasted about .75 cents! The bill is quite large but it fits ok. I did cheat and not hand stitch the lining to the hat. I did it on the machine and it doesn't look too bad. Good enough for me who doesn't really care to hand stitch! I don't know if I will actually make another one out of this pattern or not - doubtful because I do plan on ordering Amy Butler's Blue Sky hat and will make make it a little more ... neutral.
DH was funny; he said, "You'll definitely get noticed." ahhh ... as long as it's because I look so good in hot pink and frogs ;-)
Rib-bit!

How fun! I think that the hat looks great! I might have to give it a try...someday (have got to get to the bottom of the current "to do" pile! I did do the Amy Butler hat a few months ago and really enjoyed it. I sent it off to my sister-in-law and have been thinking about making another one for me! ;)Everyone needs a fun hat to wear!
